Set in contemporary Tokyo, 'Rental Family' follows an American actor (Brendan Fraser) struggling to find meaning in his leven, until he gets a special job: working for a Japanese "rental family" agency, where he plays hired roles for strangers. As he immerses himself deeper and deeper into the worlds of his clients, he begins to form genuine bonds that blur the lines between play and reality. Faced with the moral complexity of his work, he rediscovers his purpose, connection and the hidden beauty of human connections.
