What to do in November? This bustles in Hartje Gorcum!

November is perhaps the most underrated month of the year. Outside it gets chillier, the days shorter, but inside the city it only gets cosier. In Hartje Gorcum, the agenda is full of art, music, tastings and, of course, the arrival of Sinterklaas. Fancy a cultural or culinary trip? This is not to be missed.

Art to remember

In the Hendrick Hamel Museum Museum, you will discover the exhibition Andermans Veren (Other People's Feathers) this month. Artists from Gorinchem and surroundings are inspired by the animal world - from realistically painted cows to almost magical insects. An ode to animals in all shapes, colours and sizes, on view until the end of March 2026.

Music and atmosphere in town

On Sunday 2 November, eatery AYO turns into a small music stage. Taas the Band will play live there, free admission and perfect for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. On 8 November, it's time for the benefit festival Blast the Walls in the Bunker, with proceeds going to the MS Association Netherlands. Local acts, a good cause and fine atmosphere guaranteed.

For the wine lover

For wine lovers, November is a feast. On 16 November, PUB10 organises an atmospheric tasting with Lieske Vos, combined with bites from Kaatje Jans. And on 22 November, you will be welcomed at Leuk Makelaars for a wine and cheese tasting, organised by't Kleine Uiltje and the Alexanderhoeve. The month closes in style with Behind the Barrel at De Wijnboutique: on 30 November, you will meet a Tuscan winemaker here and taste his best bottles. A unique experience for anyone who likes to look just a little deeper into the glass.

Sinterklaas arrives in the Lingehaven

Saturday 15 November is the day: Sinterklaas and his pieten will dock in the Lingehaven again. A festive moment that young and old alike look forward to. Be on time, because this remains a magical moment in Hartje Gorcum.

Disco, glitter and dance till you drop

Put on your dancing shoes, because on Friday 21 November it's all about disco, funk and retro vibes during the Classics Disco Party at the Hipper & Kolfbaan. With music from the 70s and 80s, a bar full of fun and a dance floor you won't want to leave. An evening not to be missed.
