Driftwood art
Mark and Ariena have lived and worked in Curaçao. It was during this period that their love for beachcombing was born. On the west coast of this sunny island, the most beautiful pieces of wood wash ashore. They still like to go back to their beloved island and take the pieces of driftwood home with them in suitcases. Ariena slides and puzzles and Mark - originally a technique teacher, among other things - expertly puts it together. The driftwood art ranges from abstract wall objects to figurative sculptures.
Poems and more
Ariena writes poems and her words are increasingly found. Two collections of poems have now been published and there is a series of Ruwaard postcards.
Besides poems, Ariena - she spent years in front of the classroom - also likes to write for children. A number of illustrations from her picture book: 'And you? you can join too.' can be admired in the workshop. ...
