Fort de Nieuwe Steeg: Geofort

The Fort near Nieuwe Steeg is part of the New Dutch Waterline. Together with Fort Asperen, the forts protected a system of sluices on the meandering Linge river with cannons.

Now the fort has been renamed GeoFort and everything on this exciting fort island revolves around the earth! Step into a lift that drills right through the earth's crust, get disoriented in the underground corridor, find your way like a salmon through the maze, create landscapes in the interactive sandbox and experience the Netherlands in a thousand billion Minecraft cubes.

For walkers and cyclists, the Fort Island is a lovely resting place with extensive catering inside and terrace outside.
