The Biesbosch is man-made. It is nature with an important cultural history for the Netherlands: this is where people fought against the water, created polders, shaped nature to their liking with their very own culture of brushwood and reeds, but also de-poldered and gave it back to nature.

The museum is located in the heart of the Biesbosch, a unique freshwater tidal area. This makes it the perfect place to introduce visitors to the past, present and future of the Biesbosch.

By no means everyone steps into the museum for the exhibition or a tour. You can also come to use the facilities, such as the toilets, a cup of coffee or information.
