Open Jewish Houses - 3 & 4 May
In the run-up to Remembrance Day, several houses in Gorinchem open their doors to special stories from the past. During Open Jewish Houses, intimate encounters are organised, where personal memories and impressive stories become tangible. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to get to know the story of our city better.
Liberation Festival - 5 May
On 5 May, we celebrate 80 years of freedom with a big party at Buiten de Waterpoort. Expect a day full of music, dance, sports and fun for young and old. Enjoy performances, stroll along food trucks, take part in boxing clinics, take a fun photo in the photobooth and end the day with a performance by Dennis van Aarssen. A party not to be missed!
Tower climbing
With the nice weather, Gorinchem's tower is open to visitors again. Climb the steps and enjoy spectacular views of the city and its surroundings at the top. On clear days, you can even see the skyline of Rotterdam! Want to be sure of a spot? Then book your climb at the VVV tourist office.

Fancy some action? Then come to the dragon boat races on the Linge! Teams compete against each other in long, colourful boats, while the audience along the quay cheers enthusiastically. A spectacle full of excitement and energy.
Foodtruck festival Hoppaaa! - 29 May until 1 June
Ascension is traditionally celebrated in Gorinchem with the foodtruck festival Hoppaaa! Buiten de Waterpoort turns into a true street food paradise, complete with tasty snacks, refreshing drinks, live music and a relaxed atmosphere for the whole family.
