Museum Het Voorhuis is housed in the living quarters of a relocated monumental Alblasserwaard farmhouse. Parts of this farmhouse date from the seventeenth century, with some elements indicating a late medieval origin. Many authentic details from different periods have been preserved.

In Het Voorhuis, you can learn about the cultural history of the region. On display in the middle room is a reconstruction of a unique fireplace frame from the seventeenth century, a nineteenth-century upstairs room, a kitchen from the 1950s, the cellars and the Oomskamer. This room is decorated with books, drawings/paintings and furniture by the regional writer J.W. (Jo)Ooms.
