De Luisterpost

Gorinchem also played a role in the Cold War. De Luisterpost 1950 De Luisterpost was intended as a military instruction room, but was soon used for espionage. From 1955, the 105 Radio Reconnaissance Battalion listened here to the radio traffic of the Russians. With de Luisterpost, the fortress also had a role in modern electronic warfare, which was in its infancy at the time. Today, De Luisterpost is a mulitfunctional centre and practice space for various associations.
