Molenfietsroute

Mills, polders and cycling; it doesn't get any more Dutch than this! Discover Alblasserwaard and Vijfheerenlanden (again) with the windmill cycle routes of Molenstichting SIMAV. The junction cycle routes take you through beautiful regions where the 33 windmills managed by SIMAV rise beautifully above the landscape. Mills, all are different with their own story and often centuries-old history. The names of the cycle routes indicate where the cycle tour is: route Midden is 52 km, route Oost 48 km and route West 42 km.

Four Gorcumse mills

Route Oost (48 km) goes from Leerdam via Nieuwland, Arkel, Noordeloos, Hoornaar and Giessenburg to Gorinchem and past Vuren, Heukelum and Oosterwijk back to Leerdam. In Gorinchem, you will pass no less than four Gorcum windmills!
