Stoomsleepboot Jan de Sterke

The historische haven of Gorinchem is home to a very special boat. Jan de Sterke from 1913 is one of the few still sailing steamboats in the Netherlands. The boat is maintained entirely by volunteers and lies in the historische haven during the summer. You are welcome welkom view the boat when they are present.

Several times a year, the steamer participates in maritime events at home and abroad. You can then take a round trip on it; you can find an overview in the agenda on the website. And of course, the sailing season ends every year with the Sinterklaas entry in Gorinchem. After all, it is a real steamboat!
