Arkel-Spijk bicycle & foot ferry

Before you know it, you have passed it. Hidden between tall trees and reeds is a dike; one of the most idyllic spots in our country. The dike is called Rietveld, a very appropriate name for this picturesque spot on the Linge. From Arkel along the Lingedijk towards Leerdam, you suddenly see the sign Voetveer Arkel-Spijk on the right. Down the lane you arrive at a small ferry. A small ferry, with a big history.

Cyclists and walkers will find a nostalgic resting place on the terraces along the Linge here. The idyllic look is enhanced with a tea garden overlooking the Linge. There is also a covered terrace and a waterside terrace.
