Memory Bricks
A resounding success with young and old alike are the Memory Bricks. A mysterious artist has laid bricks throughout the fortress with an object from the recent past; a cassette tape, a ten guilder note, a dinky toy and much more... All the bricks are on a treasure map that you can download here or get at the tourist information office, but then the search only begins. A lot of youngsters have had hours of tracking fun with it and for adult Gorcumers it is a 'trip to memory lane'. Now it's your turn!
Children's treasure hunt
The children's treasure hunt is especially for children aged 4 to 8. With an assignment booklet, they search through the historic centre for different animals on the buildings and get to know important locations in a fun and easy way. During the scavenger hunt, they take more than 2,000 steps!

Cuddling with animals
Petting zoos are always a successful outing with children. The Natuurcentrum is home to real farm animals such as donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, mini horses, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, turkeys and many more. At the Cuddle Meadow and Cuddle Squares you can cuddle the animals. You can also feed them, but only with food from the vending machines in the stables. Had enough cuddling? Then there are always other fun things to do. For example, a free DIY tour or one of the educational quizzes. You can also hire treasure hunts and games, such as The Great Farm Discovery Tour or the XL Dice Game for the whole family.
Puzzelwandeling
A city walk with kids boring? Not if you turn it into a game! The puzzelwandeling for children is the perfect way to discover the old fortified town together while taking part in a quiz. Who will be the first to find the answer and crack the code? They will pick up the reward at the VVV tourist office. There, of course, you first buy the walk for €4. Also fun for grandparents to have at home when the grandchildren come. Or get to know your city better as a group of friends and finish with a nice drink on one of our cosy terraces.
Splash, dive and jump in the Caribabad
The Caribabad is an active day out with the family. The children will not be bored for a moment in this subtropical swimming paradise. There is a suitable warm pool for every age, some with rapids and water jets and there are spacious whirlpools. On a 112-metre-long interactive slide, you slide down with audio and visual effects. At the end, you can email your photo with speed score to yourself. And while the kids have fun, you can relax in one of the lounge areas or a Turkish bath. You don't have to go home for food, as you can also go here for a drink, snack or meal. The pool is fully accessible for the disabled, there is even a lift to help you into the water. So everyone can join in!

What do you know about the Disaster Year 1672? That is the challenge in this Waterlinie Game. Because thinking strategically is not enough, you also have to be able to place yourself in the time when our Republic was attacked by no less than four enemies at once! So go back to 1672, only then can you find the hidden object (geocache/gamepin). Quite a challenge, and especially suitable for slightly older children. Tip: make several teams and play against each other in this game through the fortress of Gorinchem.
Karting & games
If you dare, you can go go-karting with the whole family at A15 Karting. For children, there are special junior karts with coloured accelerator and brake pedals. And for safety, there are special times; on Saturdays and Sundays from 13-16 hrs, the track is wide open for kids. In holidays, the track is also free for kids from Tuesday to Friday. However, you must be at least 140 cm tall and reservations are recommended. A bit too intense? Then choose one of the other games at A15, such as paintball, crossbow shooting, sumo wrestling or bungee soccer. With a low-budget package, you combine three cool activities!
Adventures with Fien and Teun
In the middle of the polder is Avonturenboerderij Molenwaard; the most fun outing of Zuid-Holland for three years in a row! Not surprisingly, since Farmer seeks vrouw, farm life has been more popular than ever. In this theme park, Fien & Teun, two cheerful farm children, experience the best adventures on the farm in the village of Molenwaard. You will also meet their friends Sebastian the pig, Rosa the cow and Pim the dog. Your kids will learn all about leven on the farm; how do you look after the animals and nature, and where does our food actually come from? It doesn't get any more Dutch than this!
