Three Virtual Reality poles have been strategically placed at historic locations: Buiten de Waterpoort, at the Dalempoort and at the Oostwal. Each pole tells an intriguing story from the time of the Old Dutch Waterline, allowing you to make a tangible connection with the past.
How it works
Use your mobile phone to scan the QR code on the pole, after which a VR environment is revealed. By placing the phone in VR glasses, you will be immersed in a beautifully illustrated world of 17th-century Gorinchem. These 360-degree illustrations are combined with spoken texts narrated by a peasant, citizen or administrator of the time. This creates a fascinating fusion of past and present.
