From Glass City to Fortress City

This beautiful cruise starts in Leerdam Glasstad. Via the charming towns of Heukelum and Arkel, you cruise along the Linge; an idyllic little river that flows into the Merwede at Gorinchem. The end point of the cruise is therefore the cosy Lingehaven in the centre of Gorinchem. From here, you can walk straight into the centre and explore the most beautiful fortified town in the Netherlands. Stroll over the centuries-old vestingwallen or enjoy a nice terrace on one of the squares in the fortress.

Start your boat trip with a visit to the Glass Museum or Glassworks in Leerdam.

Hidden between tall trees and reed beds is Bike and Foot Ferry Carolinge, one of the most idyllic spots in our country. The terrace with tea garden on the Linge is well worth a stop!
